First, I love the Indonesian mark right above her Ken tattoo. Second, why would any self respecting woman want to brand themselves with their boyfriend’s name?
Totally Stylin Tatoos Barbie is causing quite a stir among parents. But I think it’s a sign on the times. Tattoo’s have made an indelible mark on our culture. For some, they serve as a form of self expression as their bodies are transformed into canvasses for art. That’s why I think allowing girls to create their own tatoos would be even more fun.
The doll reminds me of Risky from the VH1 show Real Chance at Love. Risky competed for the affection of Chance on the show. To prove her undying love for him, she branded herself with a “Stallionette” Tattoo (after the name of Chance’s rap group). And what did she get for it? She was eliminated at the end of the show and it was hilarious.
So, I seriously doubt the intelligence of a woman who would do such a thing. And that’s my only beef with the Totally Stylin Tattoos Barbie.
